Part II: A Rude Awakening

As I approached the hologram platform I bent down on one knee.

"Greetings, Master," I began.

"Hello my old padawan--and friend," he said.

"What is it that you wanted to tell me Master?", I asked.

"That's one of the reasons I like you Jaminus, always very frank, and to the point.", my old master stated. "There is a mission I need you to go on with your apprentice, of course.", he nodded. I turned around to see my padawan on both knees, head down, very proper. His eyes were down cast but I could still see the grin on his face.

"What is the mission master?", I asked.

"Certainly you remember the Empire?" he asked.

"Of course I do, master." He was asking a silly question. Of course, I remember the empire.

"There is a pocket of Empire faithful trying to regroup. I need you to monitor them. But do not harm them in any way at least at first. They have a sith apprentice. He used to be Sidious' I think he was his cousin. While you monitor their actions, your apprentice, must face the other. Almost a century ago a sith apprentice killed a Jedi named Qui Gon-Jinn. His apprentice, Obi Wan-Kenobi, my old master killed Qui Gon's assasin. Now your apprentice, Ronnis, will kill this sith apprentice. Then after, Ronnis will become a Jedi knight if he suceeds. We Jedi, must defend the New Republic. Our new, refurbished order must make sure that the sith and the empire are totally gone. I'm 60 years old. I'm too old to do it. You and your apprentice must go on this mission. I don't like to destroy life. But in this case, we must."

My padawan and I bowed, and went to our quarters.
